Regional Manager, Regional Services 

Agricorp is looking for a Regional Manager, Regional Services to join our Customer Experience, Regional Services team in the Program Delivery division.

The Role

The Regional Manager, Regional Services acts as a hands-on functional and motivational leader to ensure that team members are empowered to provide Agricorp customers of Production Insurance, AgriStability and the Risk Management Programs with efficient and effective support in the underwriting, claims and management of their files. This position reports to the Manager, Regional Services and works collaboratively with colleagues from various divisions across Agricorp, by providing overall direction to staff in the region. The Regional Manager also ensures that relationships and communications with both internal and external stakeholders, such as commodity groups and boards, are developed and maintained. In this role, you will:

  • Provide day-to-day direction and support to team members and support the other team leaders across the province in providing overall direction to staff within the region
  • Manage HR policies such as vacation, attendance management and code of ethics / Code of Conduct
  • Provide monthly coaching sessions to team members for improved performance and development
  • Recruit and develop talent in accordance with corporate HR policies
  • Conduct formal performance management reviews, giving feedback, addressing performance management issues and completing documentation (PPRP / IDP)
  • Develop contingency plans to manage volume fluctuations and unanticipated interruptions
  • Provide solutions and advice as a subject matter expert in the area of good farm management practices, claims services and underwriting
  • Escalate and monitor sensitive, high-risk situations so that customer needs are addressed
  • Facilitate team meetings to cascade business objectives and company information and to engage team members in continuous improvement
  • Seek feedback from internal and external customers, interpret the data and make recommendations for change
  • Together with specialists, conduct reviews and analysis on more complex or high-dollar claims and underwriting needs
  • Participate in annual business planning, resource planning and goal setting with your manager and other team leaders
  • Follow up on trends, creating new processes, maintenance and the development of enhancements to insurance contracts

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field (agriculture, economics, finance, commerce) or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in related claims adjudication or insurance claims/underwriting experience in the financial services or agricultural industry
  • Experience with operations supervision responsibilities (resource management, work scheduling and goal setting)
  • Experience implementing business change and operational improvements
  • Experience in communicating with diverse stakeholders
  • Proven experience in coaching, mentoring or leading others
  • Leadership or supervisory training an asset C
  • Conflict resolution or dispute mediation experience an asset
  • Working towards a CIP or FIIC professional designation an asset
  • A Certified Crop Advisor professional designation or working towards this designation an asset
  • Courses in accounting, risk analysis, risk management or financial analysis an asset
  • Fluency in French an asset
