Test Analyst

Agricorp is looking for Test Analyst to join the Test Services team within our Information Technology division for a 12-month contract position.

The Role

The Test Analyst is responsible for planning, executing and reporting on end-to-end testing of medium complexity system changes, from unit testing or system integration testing hand-off through to production deployment. This includes confirmation testing, regression testing, non-functional testing, reliability testing, usability testing, efficient maintenance and portability requirements. In this role, you will:

  • Provide quality system testing for medium term results using static analysis and testing of user requirements, system requirements definition, and functional or logical specifications
  • Use prior knowledge and experience to consider the scope of testing through all phases of the project or initiative
  • Ensure that test deliverables used to conduct full test coverage include an adequate level of detail for the design of operational use cases and logical test cases
  • Plan, conduct and report on end-to-end testing, including system testing, user acceptance testing and production acceptance testing, within and across applications and technical platforms
  • Create detailed test planning documents, detailed customer test cases and expected results, raising variance reports as required
  • Resolve moderately complex and diverse testing problems through collaboration and analysis
  • Provide problem resolution and support to users by facilitating dialogue between stakeholders and by explaining technical issues in common business language
  • Help to correct data, functional or process anomalies for low- to mid‑range issues
  • Maintain quality testing knowledge and best practices through research, peer knowledge sharing and requests for associated training

  • Post-secondary education in an information technology-related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 1-2 years' experience in system testing or quality assurance, including writing and executing test plans and test cases
  • 3-5 years' experience in business or systems testing environments
  • Knowledge of Agricorp tools and programs, such as Siebel, online services, AgriStability, Production Insurance, and the Risk Management Program, an asset
  • ISTQB certification or equivalent testing certifications an asset
  • Experience compiling and analyzing data and creating reports
  • Experience in estimating work efforts and reporting progress on a regular basis
  • Experience with database technology, including SQL, Oracle and DB2 an asset
