Ontario producers have 5 million acres covered by Production Insurance this year, which is consistent with recent years. The majority of acres are made up of three crops:
- Corn: 1,558,246
- Soybeans: 2,015,995
- Winter wheat: 793,088
So many producers rely on Production Insurance because it provides a level of comfort and security during the growing season, especially when conditions such as weather are unpredictable. Production Insurance is a reliable and affordable program designed to help by compensating producers for productions losses.
