There is more AgriStability support for the same low fee

Federal and provincial ministers agreed to raise the AgriStability compensation rate from 70% to 80%, starting with the 2023 program year. This is an increase the government of Ontario supports, having provided the provincial portion since the 2020 program year.

It still costs only $315 for every $100,000 of reference margin.

AgriStability resources for agents

A digital resource package was developed by Agricorp to support agents as they consult with their client on AgriStability.

Individual content pieces from the package can be found below, under the Resources section.

AgriStability top-up payments for 2020-2022 program years

AgriStability customers getting payments for the 2020 to 2022 program years will get a separate top-up payment.

These payments represent the increased provincial portion, which went from 70% to 80% since the 2020 program year. Eligible customers will get a cheque in the mail or a deposit directly into their bank account.

To learn more, read AgriStability top-up payments happening now.

Interim payments available

If you have a client who is an Ontario producer enrolled in AgriStability and who has completed 6 months of their fiscal year, they can apply for an interim payment prior to their fiscal year-end. Interim payments provide a portion of a producer’s estimated final payment.

In the last 2 years, Ontario producers received more than $20 million in AgriStability interim payments, providing cash flow when it was needed most.

If your client’s projected income has declined substantially, please visit agricorp.com to download an interim payment application that your clients can complete and submit to Agricorp.

AgriStability line codes

Please read the AgriStability program guidelines for rules on the program and the RC4060 for how to complete a T1163 or Statement A on agricorp.com. Any new line codes can be found in the RC4060.

Towards Increased Profits (TIP) report

Remind your clients that the TIP report can be viewed this spring by signing in to agricorp.com through online services.

The TIP report provides participants with a simplified farm financial analysis. It contains a comparative analysis of their farm's financial performance, based on the information provided on their previous year’s tax data.

The report identifies the potential strengths, weaknesses and efficiencies of the producer's farm business. It also compares their farm's performance with industry benchmarks for their commodity. Customers can also call Agricorp for a paper copy.
