Production Insurance and AgriStability
By participating in both Production Insurance and AgriStability, you can take full advantage of the protection available from government risk management programs. If participating in Production Insurance reduces the government share of your AgriStability benefit, you may also recover up to 100 percent of your Production Insurance premium.
Production Insurance claim payments count as income in calculating your AgriStability reference margin. Depending on weather and market conditions, in a given year you could receive an AgriStability benefit, a Production Insurance claim, or both.
Production Insurance and RMP
The Risk Management Program (RMP) for Ontario grain and oilseed producers is a three-year price support program to help offset losses caused by low commodity prices. To participate in RMP you must also participate in both Production Insurance and AgriStability for the same program year.
