The Forage Rainfall plan is based on the concept that rainfall influences production. Insured customers select a rainfall collection site close to their forage production from a network of
350 rainfall stations that Agricorp supports across the province. Customers receive a claim payment if the measured rainfall during the insured period is less than 80 percent of the
long-term average for their area.
To limit offsetting, each month's rainfall is capped at 125 percent of the long-term average for that county. Also, daily rainfall is limited to 50 mm.
