Project Manager

Agricorp is looking for two experienced Project Managers to join the Corporate Project Management Office (CPMO), one role permanent and the other for a 12-month contract. The CPMO has a dual reporting relationship with Strategic Management and Communications and Information Technology Services. The Project Manager position works with both technology and business resources across the organization to deliver solutions that support Agricorp's business goals.

The Role

As Project Manager, you will use project management best practices and expert judgment to plan, manage and deliver projects. You will manage a team of cross-functional resources and partner with project stakeholders across Agricorp divisions. In this role, you will: 

  • Manage individual or multiple concurrent projects using project management hard and soft skills based on established Agricorp methodologies
  • Initiate, plan and develop detailed project plans
  • Proactively manage and deliver all project milestones on time, on budget and within scope
  • Identify and anticipate issues and risks to project deliverables and milestones
  • Provide input, support and guidance to help Agricorp achieve expected business outcomes for assigned projects
  • Prepare, contribute to and deliver presentations to senior management
  • Acquire, manage and motivate the appropriate resources for each phase of a project
  • Provide formal input to functional managers for staff performance evaluation purposes
  • Manage the work efforts of third-party vendors and consultants
  • Support initiatives for project management continuous improvement
  • Provide support project owners and sponsors in the development of project idea submissions

  • Minimum of two to six years' demonstrable experience in managing projects​ 
  • Experience with projects that encompass both technology and business deliverables
  • Ability to get things done through collaboration and influence in lieu of formal authority
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in use of standard Microsoft Office tools, including Microsoft Project, Word, Excel and Visio
  • University degree
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent certification an asset
  • Experience in public sector an asset
  • Knowledge of the agricultural industry an asset
