The Honourable Carol Mitchell, Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, has approved a change in the regulation under the
Grains Act to allow deferred payments.
Under the amended regulation, deferred payments that are paid by July 1, 2012 will be allowed.
Staff from the Ministry and Agricorp will be meeting with producers, elevator operators and other grain industry representatives to discuss long-term options.
