It is now easier for farmers to complete their Farm Business Registration (FBR) online. Agricorp worked with the accredited farm organizations and the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs to make it easier for farmers to register their farm businesses.
When farmers register their farm businesses online, they can:
- Easily select an accredited farm organization and pay their registration – Farmers can pay online with a credit card. It's quick, easy and secure, and they can avoid a trip to the bank or the post office.
- Immediately receive proof of registration – Farmers will receive an email as proof of registration, which can be used to apply for farm licence plates.
- Quickly update their FBR information – Producers will have their account information at their fingertips so they can confirm or update their farm information, all online.

About FBR
All farm businesses in Ontario that gross $7,000 or more annually are required by law to register their farm business with Agricorp. The last day to register and pay is March 1, 2021.
Note for 2020 farm incomes that may have been negatively impacted by COVID-19: For existing farm businesses, Agricorp may base the farm business gross farm income on 2019 tax returns instead. Farmers in this situation can simply make their FBR payment online, or as indicated on their invoice. These farm businesses will continue to be eligible for the FBR program and will maintain access to agricultural programs, including a reduced farm tax rate.
