Ontario farmers may be worried about how volatile markets or costs could affect their farms, but
RMP: Grains and Oilseeds can help.
RMP works like insurance and helps farmers manage risks they can't control.
Farmers can now decide on 2023 RMP coverage, with
rates available online and renewal packages in the mail.
The last day to make coverage changes or
apply for RMP: Grains and Oilseeds is
June 30, 2023.
About RMP: Grains and Oilseeds
RMP customers can get a payment if the market price of their crop falls below the support level they chose. This level is based on the cost of producing a crop and the chosen coverage level.
The Ontario government sets aside $150 million for RMP each year, plus customer premiums, plus unused funds from previous years.
To be eligible for RMP, customers also need to have
Production Insurance coverage.
By taking part in RMP and
other programs Agricorp delivers, farmers can get the coverage they need when they need it most.
* The deadline to secure RMP :Grains and Oilseeds coverage for 2023 is extended from May 10 to June 30, 2023.
