Starting the week of December 8, Agricorp will be emailing eligible wineries program details and application forms for the new Ontario Grape Support Program. Wineries don't need to call Agricorp or apply ahead of time—they will automatically receive everything they need to apply.
The program encourages wineries to use more Ontario-grown grapes in their production of International Domestic Blend and 100% Ontario non-VQA wines.
Eligibility
Eligibility is based on wine sales reported by wineries to the LCBO from the 2024-25 sales year, prior to October 31, 2025. Sales reported after October 31, 2025 will not be included. Wineries must also report their 2024-25 sales to Agricorp using the application form.
Wineries need to report the Ontario grape content for all litres sold and will need to agree to third-party verification and to continue reporting their sales to the LCBO and Agricorp.
Payments
Payments are issued once a year, based on wine sales from the previous sales year. Payments are calculated based on the percentage of Ontario grape content in wine sold, as reported by wineries. The higher the percentage of Ontario-grown grapes in wine sold by a winery, the higher the payment rate per litre the winery will receive, based on the payment tiers described.
