Another planting season for winter wheat has wrapped up, with Ontario farmers covering 805,000 acres under Production Insurance for the 2025 program year.
With Production Insurance coverage, farmers get a guaranteed level of production for their crops and claim prices that reflect market prices. They also get coverage against winterkill and could be eligible for a replant claim of $128 per acre if their crop doesn't survive the winter.
