Deoxynivalenol (DON), also known as vomitoxin, is a concern this year for some Ontario corn producers. Producers affected by DON should call Agricorp at 1-888-247-4999 immediately to report damage, as DON is an insured peril.
Agricorp's priority is to help affected producers understand how their coverage works and walk them through the claim process.
Production Insurance is designed to cover crop losses caused by insured perils. Payments are based on yields at the time of harvest. Plant diseases, like DON, are insured perils covered by Production Insurance.
